Our Team
Joel Moore is the head coach at Greenwich Sports Academy; he is the former GB captain and is the only player to have in his possession 2 commonwealth gold medals. Joel credits a lot of his basketball skills to the teachings he received at school and is trying to create the same environment where future generations can achieve the same level of success or more.
The rest of our coaches are former national league and college players who have experience playing in Europe and the United States.
The shared ethos is focused solely on the development of basketball. We want to instill the fundamentals required to take players to the next level of the sport, whilst maintaining the enjoyment. By working with the players from an early age we have the ability to identify potential and assist in their development. All our coaches have experience dealing with difficult children as well as children with disabilities.
“Greenwich has not fulfilled its potential, we have better demographics than some of the more
successful boroughs and it’s time that we step up to the mark, starting with the London Youth Games
and culminating in a basketball development programme.”
